About Jersey

Jersey is located some 100 miles south of mainland Britain and is the most southern island of the British Isles, situated only 14 miles from the coast of France. Jersey is only 9 miles by 5 miles in size, and with its blend of British and French influences, Jersey is a place where you can get away from it all. With its unspoiled landscape, winding lanes and breathtaking coast, Jersey is a place where you can truly relax without a care in the world on one of the unspoiled sandy beaches or rocky coves all easily accessible by road or on foot. It is also the place to explore the beautiful cliffs and breathtaking walks, or horse ride or cycle along the network of narrow country lanes.

Jersey also offers plenty of outdoor sports such as water skiing, sailing, windsurfing, jet skiing and surfing to name but a few! The Island is also full of history including Elizabeth Castle, Gorey Castle, the German Underground Hospital and the famous Durrell Wildlife. Jersey also offers spectacular events including the Battle of Flowers and Jersey International Air Display on behalf of the Royal Air Force Association as part of the Battle of Britain Week.

After all the sightseeing and outdoor life of Jersey, you can always enjoy a night on the town. Jersey’s good living and fine food gives it an excellent reputation. There are a huge range of places to eat, ranging from Michelin-star restaurants to country pubs to beachside bistros; all offering a friendly welcome. St Helier, Jersey’s capital on the south coast also has many shops, restaurants and night life to enjoy.
